2nd book project is due tomorrow. Flashlight and presentation are due next Wednesday. Happy National Pretend to Be a Time Traveler Day! We began designing flashlights today! Students have until next Wednesday to build a flashlight from scratch that can serve at least one other function that makes sense in the book they are reading for science.
HOMEWORK: Keep reading in science fiction novel. Next project due date is this Friday. Flashlights and presentations due Wed December 14th. For Sci Fi Friday, we watched the following bittersweet short film about cloning and the future:
World of Tomorrow This is the link to the preview. You can watch the entire movie on Netflix. HOMEWORK: Keep reading in your science fiction novel and completing your three book projects. Students began brainstorming their ideas for building a flashlight that also serves another function and makes sense in the world-building of the novel they are reading.
They will build the circuitry and bring in materials to be the casing for the flashlight as well. Students helped design the rubric today that they will use to evaluate the flashlight. HOMEWORK: 1. Students need to create a document in which they have brainstormed 5 or more possible other functions as well as a materials list for the project and a sketch. This is due at the end of class Friday. 2. Students need to be up to date in their reading and have at least one of their three book projects finished. |
