Jason will be out of town the week of March 5th, and the fantastic Skyla will be subbing! During this week, students will be working on the following:
1. March Mammal Madness Research! All students will be participating by filling out a bracket for this exciting and informative competition! In addition to filling out a bracket, students will also become an expert on one of the 65 species. Below, find links to a website on the competition, the bracket, the list of who is researching which animal, and the sheets that they will need to do. Have fun! 1. March Mammal Madness Website and Bracket 2. Who Is Researching which Animal 3. Research Sheet 4. Debate Sheet The bracket is due Monday March 12th. The research and debate information is due Wed. March 7th at the end of class. 2. Students will watch the Nova episode called Calling the Shots, linked below. Due at the end of class on Thursday, March 6th is a list 0f 10 interesting facts from the movie. This will be graded. Calling the Shots 3. For SciFi Friday students will read Ken Liu's "The Plague" linked below. They will need to turn in this in at the end of class. Here is what is due: Write at least one paragraph comparing the story to the book they are reading. How is it alike? How is it different? If they cannot come up with much, they can write a paragraph on their thoughts on the story. What did they like or not like?
